The journey to launch

The journey to launching the SeaSelkie Signature Collection has taken a while, because every decision and every detail has been centred on creating the most comfortable and beautiful lingerie.

I started with making it easier to put on and take off; anyone who’s had a shoulder injury or poor mobility will know exactly what I mean – but even if you haven’t, ‘bra yoga’ is the workout none of us want or need.

Then there’s the fabric.

It’s a tough job, sourcing swatches of soft, supportive, breathable fabrics to find the best of them all! I paired this with the fun, feminine colours of our signature pattern, making the products as beautiful as they are comfortable.

Finally, I chose quality workmanship.

We work with small sewing rooms in the UK; we have refined every detail of our products over an 18-month period through close collaboration. SeaSelkie products have been through a rigorous testing process by women of different ages and lifestyles: they have been worn to a desk job, doing gardening, been put on after swimming.

Then, and only then, was SeaSelkie ready for launch.
